Our History

Our Story

Founded in 1999 by a group of retired military leaders, the Celebrate Freedom Foundation (CFF) was established with a clear and enduring mission: to honor past aviation pioneers while inspiring future innovators in aviation and space. From the very beginning, education has been at the heart of everything we do.

Through our STEM Education Outreach Program, CFF has remained deeply committed to engaging K–12 students at a critical stage in their development. By introducing young minds to the possibilities within science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, we help them envision futures without limits. We believe it is our responsibility to expose students to the full spectrum of opportunities available—empowering them to pursue their ambitions with confidence.

25 Years of Impact—and Growing

Now, more than twenty-five years later, CFF’s mission is more relevant than ever. South Carolina is rapidly emerging as a major hub for global aerospace and automotive manufacturing, creating an urgent demand for a highly skilled, STEM-literate workforce.

Preparing students to meet this demand is essential—not only for their individual success, but for the continued growth and competitiveness of our state and nation. Through hands-on experiences, real-world connections, and mentorship from experienced instructors, CFF plays a vital role in workforce development.

Our STEM Education Outreach Program continues to ignite curiosity, build confidence, and guide students toward meaningful careers in STEM fields—ensuring the next generation is ready to lead, innovate, and thrive in an increasingly competitive global landscape.
